Summer finale! And they named it after Batman! last we was a Star Trek reference and now Batman. Will PLL be at the next Comic Con?

A pregnancy, A death, and we find out who Mary's second kid is. this episode had it all but lets start with the boring stuff.

Aria is waiting for Ezra to come back from Columbia when she sees on the news that Nicole was saved and Ezra is there to reunite with her. I guess it is up in the air if Ezria will still be engaged,

Emily finds out that Ali is pregnant with Archers child while spending the night at Ali's house. They get it on, Paige thinks that Ali is just doing it to get between the two of them. And Sabrina is nowhere to be found.

Spencer gets closer to Marco and says a very personal goodbye to Toby. He is leaving Rosewood, Not sure where he is going but he does not make it, he is in a horrible accident where we do not know the fate of him or Yvonne. Also somehow they do not know who bought their house.

Hanna has Noel tied up and brings his blood to a lab to see if he is Mary's other kid.  since she won't answer her phone the Liars get the cops involved thinking that Noel kidnapped her. With Mona's help she finds the flash drive and comes up with a story to so she can return to town. She gets back together with Caleb. They find out Noel is not related to Mary and he escapes. Mona and Caleb are watching Jenna but it turns out to be a decoy (Sydney or something, to tell you the truth I totally forgot about her). the Liars go to exchange the flash drive for the camera that proves that Hanna kidnapped Noel. The meeting place is a scary abandoned school for the blind. Noel literally loses his head. Spencer is shot by Jenna but saved by Mary who revels that she is Spencer's mom and Jenna is kidnapped by AD.

and now we have to wait until January to find out who lives and who dies and who AD is. Only 10 more episodes till it is finally over. By the why where was Jason? And speaking of Jason, his relationship with Spencer just changed from Half-brother to cousin.

wrAth of kAhn

I can't believe they used a "Star Trek" reference for the title of this episode. what nerds.

Hanna is by herself trying to kidnap Noel Kahn. She first tries to use a Cosby special but he doesn't fall for it.  She ends up just knocking him out with a pipe.

Emily has her interview for the swim coach position and confides in Paige about AD. She is moving away from Sebrina and closer to Paige as we see in the end when she calls Paige. She also helps Spencer find a flash drive in Noel Kahn's cabin.

Spencer finds Noel Kahn's Cabin and find a flash drive with videos from the dollhouse. She is going to give it to Marko but it gets stolen before she can, and they did not make a copy. However they do watch one video which shows that Noel was at the dollhouse.

Aria teams up with Jason to try and find Mary's second kid from the adoption records. We get to find out more about their past relationship through flashbacks. In the end the records are almost entirely redacted but Noel Kahn's father was the judge that signed off on it. That's proof enough for Aria that Noel is Mary's kid (even though it would be odd and might even be illegal for a judge to oversee their own adoption). Also she is waiting to hear from Ezra about Nicole, in the end she is not one of the four hostages released.

Ali is on a field trip and we don't see her, or Caleb, Toby, Mona,Jenna ... Also we find out that Archer used a fake passport to go to France, which means AD is still keeping the cops on a wild goose chase.

exes And omgs

Simone from the Olympics (I forget which one) is a PLL fan and has been invited to the set, super cool.

We saw two faces we have not seen in a while, Page and Mrs Grunwald. Paige is applying for the same swim coach job that Emily is applying for at Rosewood. They seem to be getting along until Paige creepily watches Emily with her her new friend.

Mrs. Grunwald we have not seen since the Ravenswood spin off failed. She is back to convince Hannah that her premonitions about Noel are correct. Buy the end of the episode Hannah is so convinced and the other liars are not with her that she hatches her own plan to catch him, which we will see next week.

Ali is back to teaching and her first class they all dress as A. She also steals Noel file, its weird that the only classes the principal keeps files on are the class of 2012 and 2017. its like the school was shut down for the 5 years we skipped.

Spencer follows a lead on Mary. Its a Dr. Cochran and brings Aria for the ride. They find his daughter first and she won't talk to them till her office is trashed and she gives Spencer his address and instructions to bring whiskey. They do and all they find out is that Mary gave birth two kids as Radley the first one was a boy and given to her sister and the second one was given to the state, not much more than we already knew.

Besides tagging along with Spencer Aria is dealing with that fact that Nicole might be alive and how that will effect her relationship with her fiance Ezra. She tells him about the call she deleted and he's quite upset. However she gets him a ticket to, i guess, Columbia and all is well at least until we find out Nicole's fate.

 I'm back and only missed one episode instead of two.
RECAP

The Liars find out that Sara is dead/murdered and want to find out who did it.

Emily spends time with her mom for her birthday, it starts out bad but by the end they have a great time.

Aria and Ezra are going to elope in Italy and are about to leave when the FBI shows up believing that Nicole is still alive.

Hanna messed up her business proposal, sneaks into Jenna's room and helps Caleb.

Spenser buys necklaces for the Liars.

Jason returns and tries to get rid of Marry but Ali won't let him and thy find out about a storm shelter their mom used and the liars go there and find out Jessica was searching for Ali and had files on all of them but then AD destroys it.

Noel Khan is back and breaks into Toby's to steel the file he had on Marry and in the process assaults Yvonne

Along comes mAry

I will be going on vacation the next week so I will not be able to do this the next couple weeks.  I have been trying to get someone to take my place but it does not look good, so please plan to do without this for next two episodes.

Ali is out but she is forced to be under aunt Mary's care. they bond a little. She gets a visit from Jenna. Finds out that Elliott/ Archer stole all her money so she is broke. Lastly, AD gives back her jacket with a note that Liars used it to try and prove that she killed Charlotte.

Spencer and Hanna don't do much. Hanna just lies low and works on her business plan for Lucas. Spencer is searching for Caleb. Personally I did like her Star Wars joke.

Emily and Aria have a lot more going on. Emily misses a test because of her date but AD takes care of it for her. Aria answers a call from Nicole, Ezra's dead girlfriend. Then Instead of day drinking they use Archers burn phone to lay a trap at his burner apartment, they find a fake head, pictures of Holden, blank passports, cash, a ledger, and Archers copy of Twelfth Night. Toby walks in and gives them five minutes before he calls it in. At the end, Ezra purposes to Aria, it cuts to a different scene before she answers, I bet she says yes.

So Marco from the bar last week is the head detective looking for Archer. Even though the Liars had his trail going to Philly, they have him renting a car in Baltimore, so AD or whomever is doing a better job of covering their tracks.

Jenna is still in town and has made friends with Sara. The episode closes with Noel Khan meeting them for a drink. We haven't seen him in years/seasons, I wonder what he's been up to?

• I totally forgot that Emily was taking classes, no wonder she missed the test
• what type of hospital is this that they release Ali to an aunt she has never met and just found out about
• deleting the Nicole call will end up biting Aria in the butt

hit And run, run, run

As expected the Liars did not take my advice at all and cover up Elliott's death. They felt that they have lied so much no one would believe the truth. they bury him (same seen from the opening of this season) and make it look like he took the train out of town. they were going to torch Lucas' car (the murder weapon) but Mona steps in before they do that. 

She had been tailing Elliott and got the car fixed. She also informs them of his burner phone. It's nice having her back and on the Liars' side. While helping Hanna retrieve her bracelet from Elliott's car they find the burner and Jena is on the other end. she also showed up this episode. said she was in for Toby's engagement but that was a lie.

Some other things were, Spencer had a moment with Caleb with a door between them and Hanna listening in on it. She also got so drunk she could not do her part of the cover up and hooked up with some guy she met at the bar named Marco.  Aria brought Ali back to the loony bin and lost her but found her and strapped her in and was told what happened with Ali and Charlotte the night Charlotte was murdered. Also Mary is in charge of Ali since Elliot is gone.

I can believe I almost forgot the biggest news. Elliot was not Elliot, it was an assumed identity of a dead man. Toby figured it out and when they went to confront him he wasn't around (because he's buried in the woods) but the cops think he's on the lam. Which totally fits with the Liars' cover up.

• it seems like Emily is the only one with a job at this point, where do the rest get money from?
• Mona called out Hanna on the engagement ring and reminded her that people will expect a wedding at some time, I guess she forgot about Hanna's mom's wedding

I might just stop intros all together.

They KILLED Elliot! Sorry to start with the surprise ending but that was only important thing. It looks like they are going to cover it up even though there is no need to. It was accident, and even if it wasn't  he was on a unlit dirt road where it would be hard to see him plus the Liars are the only witnesses and could make up any facts they want, they are great liars. Also after they found out he is torturing Ali, he kind of deserves it.

Besides that there was some relationship stuff. Hannah is pretending she is still with Jordan, Emily got a new job and new girlfriend (it's about time) and Spencer tries to figure out what's going on between her and Caleb. Also Toby and Yvonne got engaged.

Aria and Hannah also got to Amish country to find out more about Elliot. They find a girl who was friends with Charlotte  and find out that Charlotte gave her dolls of the Liars. they also find out that Elliot and Charlotte were an item.

Side notes

• Hannah lying about her engagement reminded me we still don't know if her mom got married
• they are really pushing the limits of reason on why everyone is still hanging out in Rosewood
• I thought Liam was staying in Rosewood to work on the book
• hiding the key in the light only works during the day because once the the light is on it will be known it is there from the shadow

Not feeling it so I'm going to keep it short.

Hannah is rescued and dropped off at Spencer's and is understandably messed up but will not go to Dr. or police. While looking over the contract Lucas gave her she flashes back to how she met Jordan. She surprises him and wants to recreate the moment but the  bar is gone so she breaks off the engagement and signs the Lucas contract.

Liam is back and Aria breaks up with him but he is here to stay because he is working on the book. He also figures out that Ezra and her were a thing in high school. They should talk to the publisher to send Liam back and send someone else because otherwise this is going to be awkward.

Spencer thinks that Caleb and Hannah have a thing. She lost her DC job and will just get a job with her mom. She also gets Mary to tell her why she was in Radley, it was all Jessica's fault if we believe her.

Emily tries to help Ali after getting a call, but can't because Elliot will only allow family to visit. Emily finally gets Mary to help her and Ali is doing horrible. Emily also sees Mary and Elliott argue.

By far the best part of the episode was at the end when Spencer mentioned that she will probably follow her mom to Harrisburg. I hope she does, she can stay with me if she wants!

tick-tock, bitches

We are back! According to everything I have seen this will be the last season. What is even sadder is that my sister has given up on the show and has not even seen last season. If you are friends with her guilt her into watching it because in a little over a month I will be traveling abroad so we will need her to take over the blog. Or I will need to find someone else.

We start off with Spencer, Emily and Aria burying  someone or something and then flash back 4 days to right where we left off. They go to save Hannah in the bell tower but it is just a life size doll with a Hannah mask on that tells them they have 24 hours to deliver Charlotte's  killer to Uber A or Hannah dies. they then start the clock from "24".

They decide to all work together Liars, boyfriends, and Mona. They do a vote and Ali wins for Killer, they just need proof. Also they find out about Mary, Mrs Dilaurentis' sister.

They do a bunch of sleuthing and Spencer has tea with Mary. Emily visits Ali in the mental hospital and then finds the red jacket that was worn the night Charlotte was killed. Caleb takes it to A but it is pointless because after "Spencer" tells captured Hannah "if there is a way in there is a way out" she escapes by herself. The only problem is that she is picked up by Mary.

Elliott is going to keep Ali drugged up so she is stuck in the Hospital for life. And ARia and Ezra are getting back together

That is the set up for the rest of the probably final season.

Another season in the books! They say the more things change the more they stay the same. That is definitely true of PPL. Now to the recap!

The beginning and end of the episode deals with Hanna and Caleb's plan. It uses her as bait to capture Sara or A. While perfecting the plan we have a flashback showing Hanna and Caleb's breakup and the fact that if Hanna was a minute or two faster they might have still been together. They do kiss (there is a theme with almost all the couple getting back together). In the end the plan does not work, Hanna is captured and looks like she is about to be thrown from the church bell tower just like Charlotte was in the first episode.

Its not all bad news though. Ezra and Aria's book is completed and the publisher loves it, all of it. They will up the release date and go on tour and everything. They celebrate with some coitus , sorry Liam.

Spencer and Toby are working to find a secret room at the Radley. They do find it and in it is a file that shows that Margaret, a patient at Radley, was Charlotte's birth mother. More on that later. Spencer and Toby do not get back together but with Caleb with Hanna and Yvonne upset with Toby it is just a matter of time. The big news is that Spencer's mom won the election!

Emily is taking care of Ali. Ali keeps having  terrifying "visions" of her mother an Walden, and Elliot is out of town. It gets so bad that Ali voluntarily commits herself. It turns out that it was all part of the plan. Margaret was the twin of Mrs. DeLarentis and was using Elliot in a Walden mask to get her money back, or something. You would think there were easier ways but give her a break she was in a loony bin. 

Mona keeps popping up throughout this episode even though she doesn't add anything to it.

Well we will just have to wait a few months to find out that Hanna is still alive since they would never kill off one of the liars.

Also A is now signing the texts A.D. Alison DeLaurentis? Anno Domini? Alpha Dog?

did you miss me?

Since next week is the season finale this week was just setup. Very little happened. I will keep it short and sweet.

On her honeymoon Ali falls down the stairs and ends up in the hospital with a concussion. Hanna visits her and finds a card from A, which she takes. Ali sees her mom who lets her know that she likes Elliot. This is probably a hallucination since her mom is dead. Also all the flowers were from Elliot so the card from A could have been from him.

Aria is better and out of the hospital and working on the book with Ezra. He rewrites a part so she finds out how the last time he saw his girlfriend before she was murdered they had a fight. They have diner with her boss/ their publisher. It goes well, Aria is told that everyone knows about her and Liam so she will no longer be reporting to him.

Emily spots Mona talking to Sara's driver. She follows him to city hall where with Spencer's help they find out that he was picking up blueprints of Radley for Sara.

Besides helping Emily Spencer also drinks wine and gets mad when she sees Caleb and Hanna working so well together. She also has a flashback to when she and Caleb were in Madrid and he explained his favorite painting from the Prado.

Hanna worried about A hurting everyone, comes up with a plan to trap A. She gets Caleb to help and convinces the other liars to help since they will be doing it anyway. Lucas comes back and fixes his loft. He is also  buying and renovating some warehouse and offers Hanna to set up shop in it. At the end of the show she sends a text to A to leave her friends alone since she was the one who killed Charlotte (for anyone who did not watch the show Hanna did not kill Charlotte) as bait.

Sara is back in Rosewood and she and Mona have a conversation where they seem to threaten each other.

It's nice that they had a tie in to "zootopia". Remember when they had it to "Ouija"? I would think they would mention that today is super Tuesday since they mentioned the election a lot but alas they did not.

on to the recap...

After setting a date for her wedding last week, this week Hanna has her bridal shower. It is going horrible, her rosewood friends and NYC friends are not mingling, no one knows anything about her Jordan, Mona shows up. Ohh the the place goes crazy and the fireplace blows burning Aria. FYI Lucas is going to be pissed they ruined his loft; also interesting fact, the number on the door is 2A.

Emily is doing some sleuthing and tracks down the car that almost ran her over last week. She does not find out who was driving it but she does find out that Mona was the one who called Charlotte the night she was murdered.

While looking at the photos from her parents wedding Aria finds the message from new A that they need to give A the killer by election day. She also gets great news from Ezra, he spoke to his editor and got it approved that they will write his book together. She will be his co-author!  Aria fits the description of the person who called Charlotte and has to be part of a line up. She sees Sara leave the precinct shortly after and assumes that Sara was the "witness" but is really just setting her up. Ezra comes to comfort her in the hospital after she got the second degree burns at Hanna bridal shower but when Liam comes he leaves. You can tell that she likes Ezra better; they are totally getting back together. Where were her parents why did they not visit her, plus thanks to Obamacare she is still on their insurance.

Through flashbacks we learn that Spencer and Toby had a pregnancy scare during her sophomore year. Luckily it was just a scare but their relationship did not survive it. Back in the present, Toby is super mad at Spencer and Caleb. When he confronts them Caleb will not admit that he was not the one that leaked Yvonne's abortion but was just taking the fall. Toby punches him in the face. In the end Spencer explains it all to Toby and tells him there is a new A in town. Her dad (mom was missing this episode, probably busy with the election) tells her she has to distance herself from Caleb, she doesn't. When he finds out that she hasn't she goes on the defensive and asked why he let the murder Melissa sneak back to London. He explains that she was being blackmailed and therefore couldn't have killed Charlotte. Spencer also finds out that it was not Mona that leaked the Yvonne thing but because of it they checked the computers and she got fired for the stuff about Spencer's mom. Spencer leaves a voicemail for Yvonne that she is really sorry and if she ever needs to talk to someone Spencer is there for her.

well only 2 more episodes!

It must be sweeps week, with all the wedding in this week's show. FYI we still don't know if Hanna's mom ever got married. Well enough small talk let's get to the recap.

The big wedding was Aria's parents remarrying each other. We knew that it was going to happen but I did not think it would be this quick. They ask Aria to officiate and Hanna helps with the wedding dress. Mike doesn't come, they say it's because he thinks his dad will hurt his mom again but it's more likely the actor had a scheduling conflict or wanted too much money.  The wedding goes off without a hitch and A doesn't do anything. Liam even comes after he finds out about Ezria and they rekindle their love. Aria also comes clean to Ezra that while he was gone she wrote six chapters of his book. At the end of the episode Ali and the Dr. come wanting for her to marry them. They worked things out after A made Ali admit that it was their relationship that may have made Charlotte leave the house the night she was murdered.

As mentioned earlier Hanna helped with the wedding. She kept ignoring Jordan's calls but in the end she calls him back and leaves a voicemail that she has picked a date, May 17th, so everyone save the date (STD as my sister tells me she stole from HIMYM).

Spencer finally confronts her mom about her health after Caleb made sure that her rival no longer had the medical documents. Her mom is so impressed with her she goes public about in and her poll numbers go up! Melissa is also back and lied about the broken bag. She also worked on something that would clinch her mom's victory (probably the leaked story I will mention later) and Hanna had a flashback about her flipping out in London because Charlotte called Ren and told him about Bethany. So a story that Yvonne had an abortion is leaked and since her mom is the pro life candidate it make them look like a hypocrite. You would think this would help the Hasting campaign but the leak is traced back to Spencer's IP address and it make them lose all the good will they got from her coming clean about her health (personally I would still think the fact that the daughter of a pro-life candidate had an abortion would make her lose a lot of vote no matter who leaked the story). Caleb takes the fall and leaves but will work on finding who actually leaked it.

Emily and Hanna take Ali  to Sara's room at the Radley since she has left it to show her the tunnel. The room is a mess and the hole to the tunnel is gone As the maid is in the other room they sneak out (the maid is A). Emily then registers at Hollis  and and make friends with the reporter from a couple weeks ago. A sends her some books about babies to threaten her since A has her eggs. Hanna informs Emily that he is a reporter and not a student, she plays along with it and he gets no information. Emily goes to check out the diner the call to Charlotte came from. It looked closed but a dark SUV tries to run her over. while dodging the SUV her phone gets crushed, she finds the missing luggage handle (likely the murder weapon) and drops it, the driver of the SUV takes it. She is now convinced that there are at least two people after them.

where somebody waits for me

There is another network, AMC where after every show, they have another show that discusses the show you just watched. i.e the "walking dead" followed by the "talking dead". I think they are all even hosted by the same guy. The reason I bring this up is because they should have one for PLL and I wouldn't care if it is on freeform or AMC.

Now to the recap

We start where we left off with Spencer and Aria in the walls of Radley. They find a device like the one that was used on them in the dollhouse and that this is a tunnel used by Sara to get in and out undetected, Charlotte probably used it as well.

Caleb has cracked into the files on the phone and finds a document that Spencer's mom is sick. The Campaign is going to leak it and  Spencer didn't even know that her mom was ill. She confronts Mona and confirms that Mona had Yvonne leave the phone on purpose to test Spencer but really wanted her to leave the phone so she could see that they were going to leak the story of her mom hiding her sickness. Unfortunately, Spencer was not able to be as up front with her mom and never gets the chance to tell her that she knows she's sick and that the story will be leaked. Caleb Confronts Mona and tries to convince her they should not leak it, we also find out that he hooked up with Mona. At the end of the episode Spencer finally gets the tag off Melissa's luggage like she was asked to do the entire episode. When she does a pole from the handle is missing, she believes this to be the murder weapon!

Aria's coworker/boyfriend Liam comes to Rosewood to get more of Ezra's book. After reading more he knows that Aria wrote it and tells her to finish the chapter till they can get more from Ezra and that she will need to explain to him why she is writing his book for him. Ezra does return at the of the episode and explains that after he was with Aria he saw her parents together and promised not to tell and then he went to some diner or something. Anyway he was so upset that she would even think that he would kill someone, he ended up in Albany and wrote three chapters of the book.

Hanna and Jordan go to some cheesy romantic motel with cupids and a heart shaped bed. They are having a great time till she gets all these text to get back to Rosewood and Jordan is missing. He comes back with a tray that was left in the hall, it's from A "the honeymoon is over". They return to Rosewood where they get in a fight and he tries to convince her to go back to NY. Instead she gets a drink with Caleb and then has a flashback to why they broke up.

When Emily goes for her consult, the office is closed. One of the fridges with the eggs malfunctioned, even though there are like 10 precautions that would make sure this would not happen. Her eggs are gone, she is super bummed. She also has a talk with Detective Tanner who implied that she is going to keep the Liars in Rosewood till they find out who murdered Charlotte. Cause until she does I still don't know why they are all staying there.

After Ali talks to Spencer about her secret romance, she decides that it should no longer be a secret.  I believe that covered everything.

• Mona could have given the info to Spencer in a much easier less convoluted way
• was the end of the virus that Caleb gave to A just messing up the computer, he didn't get any other info or even a location?

Here we are five episodes in and none of the liars have a good reason for staying in Rosewood. But it is always better not to think too much about these little details. Lets get to the recap.

The big secret that Aria's dad needed to tell her is that he is back with her mom and they are getting remarried or something. This means that her dad did not kill Charlotte but they are having trouble contacting Mike at college. Aria books (using the company credit card and they will not pay for it so it will be taken out of her pay) the room next to Sara's and finds out Sara does not want Housekeeping cleaning her room, When Aria and Spencer break in they find out that Sara is staying in that room because it was Charlotte's room. They also find a hole and ladder in the back of the closet, where it goes we will find out next week. Also no one knows where Ezra is.

Spencer is having a great time with Caleb until she gets a reminder for lunch with Gil. That is just a set up and ends up having lunch with Yvonne instead. They have a great time but when Yvonne leaves her phone Spencer "borrows" it and Caleb clones it to try to find new A. When Spencer goes back to the restaurant to return it Mona takes it from her  and reminds her we are not in High school anymore.

Today is the day Emily is having her eggs harvested. She is a bit of a mess from the hormones and nerves. Hanna was going to take her but can't and at the last minute Ali takes her. It goes well but when she wakes from the drugs she has a scary vision of Sara attacking her. Ali assures her no one was in the room. However the couple who were buying her eggs just got pregnant so they don't need them and Emily won't get paid. It sucks but she decides to donate them. Back at the loft A taunts her with a note in a carton of chicken's eggs. 

Ali is isolated, the women in her family (her mom and sister) are dead and the men (her dad and brother) aren't talking to her. The Liars aren't talking to her either. It seems like only Dr whatshisname is. When will that romance start? Anyway Sara confronts her at school (Ali is now teaching there) they have an OK talk, Sara suggests that they hang out more and talk about Charlotte since they were both close to her just at different times. I guess both of them forgot all the horrible things Charlotte did to them and the Liars. 

Hanna lies to Jordan so she can stay in Rosewood longer to get the hard drive her mom stole to give to A. She and Aria ransack her mom's house but come up empty.  So they get Caleb to make a fake drive to give to A. A falls for it and when A connects the drive to the computer a video of Caleb informing A the rules have changed plays while a virus is uploaded. Game on A. By the time Hanna gets to New York to help her boss, she has been replaced. Instead of begging for her job back she just leaves even forgetting her panda mug. Jordan is fine with it and they just keep driving. He is fine with everything, and has connections for everything; he is either the best person in the world or A, cause we know it is not Sara.

• I'm pretty sure selling your eggs doesn't work like that, where people could just back after the procedure is done, I would hope that the donor would still get paid. Emily get a lawyer. Although it is looking more and more like A is behind the whole thing.

now to the recap

The Liars are still in Rosewood and the writers are still setting up this season and adding reasons for them to stay. We also have A back, the Liars think it is Sara but she is obviously not since she is more Jenna circa season one.

Nothing happened with Emily. She helped Aria by distracting Sabrina but that backfired when Sabrina  found out. She could have been missing from the episode like Ali was.

Aria wanted to make sure that Ezra's 9 iron was not missing since A sent them a pic that it was the murder weapon. She breaks into his loft and it is there, so he is off the hook. However her dad left a cryptic message on Ezra's machine that seems to incriminate her dad. They also saw him sneaking into the Radley. Aria also finds that his set of clubs is missing a 9 iron. At the end of the show she gets a call that he needs to talk to her in private. She also has a flashback where her parents are arguing about Charlotte and her dad would see Charlotte free over his dead body. So they want us to think that he killed Charlotte so he therefore did not.  

Hanna comes clean about deleting the video. Jordan is fine with it and gets her a lawyer, which she does not need since her mom steals the backup drive. She is also coming to grips with Spencer and Caleb.

Talking about Spencer, She is helping with her mom's campaign and is doing an event with the oppositions daughter Yvonne. Not only was Caleb involved with her but Toby is planning on proposing to her and she is the one he is building the house for.  Caleb tells Toby that there is something between him and Spencer; Toby does not take the news as well as Hanna does. Spencer also has Caleb look into the A text they have received. He tracked it down to an unlocked storage unit but it was a setup, there was nothing the stuff A threw out including the cellphone that they tracked.

A is now walking around in an old man mask and being driven around in black sedan with tinted windows, the same car that was taking pictures of Spencer.

These Liars have not learned anything, and keep making the same mistakes they did in high school.

There is a new app I just found out about called blindspot, it allows you to send anonymous messages to anyone you want. Most people have spoken out against this app since it will make online bullying even easier. However, it makes being A so much easier, but then again A is the master of online bullying and does not need blindspot. For those of us who want to try being A download blindspot, then find four popular girls whose secrets you know and let the games begin.

now to the show

A in some form is back! At least that is how the episode ends but that has nothing to do with the rest of the episode. We start out with the Liars sans Aria having a spa day discussing their  Charlotte predicament  and leaving but not before Emily sees that Sara has heard everything.

Spence is working on her moms campaign and after being told how to spin her murder paper goes to a millennial voter registration event. She is doing fine with the interview until Hanna shows up, but did fine. She goes to make sure his story is about the campaign and not the bunker girls where she finds out that Mona is working for the other camp after she was rejected by Spencer's mom. she is also dealing with her feeling for Caleb, Hanna gives her the OK and they Netflix and chill at the end of the episode. Also Melisa is back and flipped out at her interview after seeing some notes about the discovery of a video; she thinks it's her video about what happened the night Ali went missing, Spencer thinks its the surveillance video from the night Charlotte was killed. also she tells Caleb and therefor the rest of us what happened to Sara and why her hands are messed up.

Hanna is super worried after the police know that that the tape was erased. She bumps into Lucas who is now a super successful computer guy, who will still do anything for her. She has him be their alibi and it seems to work. She has never heard the expression "the cover up is worse than the crime" cause why is she continuing to commit crime after crime to cover up something she did not do. It just makes her look guilty. Also since Spencer's mom is the only lawyer in town and she is too busy with her campaign so Hanna (and Lucas) spoke with the cops without legal representation. She also yells at Ezra before he kicks them out.

Aria is working hard on getting Ezra's book. She is told by her topless boyfriend (nowhere near Toby's body) that  if she can't get it by the end of the week she is probably out of a job. She gets a couple rough chapters that she polishes up and sends to her boss. The boss loves them and wants more so she starts writing them herself.Ezra is not doing well he doesn't want to write anymore and he is drinking so much that they would not serve him at Radley. I don't totally get it since some of the best writers in the world have been moody alcoholics.

Emily finally comes clean, well she had to. Her mom gets a letter from her former school so she knows that she dropped out. Also Hanna sees her injecting drugs. It turns out that Emily is fine, she is just selling her eggs, she needs money since she spent all the money her dad left her and she cant get a good job since she does not have a college degree. She also confronts Sara about the fact that she is following her.

chArlotte's web

This was just as bad as last week's. Nothing happened, just gave us more backstory and introduced two boyfriends. It's just set up for later on but I doubt there will be any payoff.

Aria was the major player. She goes back to Boston where we meet Liam and find out it is her job to get Ezra's book. She goes back to Rosewood where the other liars know that she left the hotel with Ezra the night ChArlotte was killed. She tell the Liars what happened and they think Ezra killed Charlotte. She gets Ezra book.

Spencer is distancing herself from her mother's campaign to protect it from exposure to the whole murder thing. We also find out that she is closer to Caleb then we thought and find out about their time in Spain. She is also worried about a paper she wrote in college where a woman is murdered the same way that Charlotte was. Said paper was shared with Ezra.

Emily is lying to everyone but her dead dad. She flunked out of school after he died then lied to her mom. She also needs treatment for probably cancer. She also sees Sara at Charlotte's grave.

Hanna's fiance  Jordan comes, he meets the gang including Caleb. She checks the security tapes and ends up erasing the video that incriminates Aria.

 Ali has a dinner with all the liars sans Aria. She leads grace, which makes them nervous. She picks up on this and let's Lorenzo know that she thinks the liars had something to do with Charlotte's murder. Sara is off their list since the burns prevent her from doing anything including signing her name.

It's been a while, like five years, since I did the last one. the biggest change is the name of the network PLL is on. It was ABC Family it is now freeform. I thinks thats good cause PLL is definitely not a "family" show. well let's get to the recap.

The purpose of this episode is to let us know what happened in the last five years. So very little happened this week. Ali brings back the liars to Rosewood to testify in a hearing to let ChArlotte out. Everyone but Aria lies, ChArlotte is released, that night ChArlotte is murdered, SArA HArvey shows up at the funeral. The End.

Here's what everyone was up to:

Spencer is in DC working as a lobbyist. Her mom is is running for senate. Caleb is living in her barn and might start working for her.

MonA is also doing something in DC.

Toby is still on the police force in Rosewood and is busy building a house.

Hanna is working for a designer traveling all over the world. She is engaged to be married, not to Caleb, and is baby crazy as seen when she is on the plane. Her mom runs Radley, which has been transformed into a high class hotel.

Emily is working a bar and is using drugs, she did not fit in in college.

Aria is an author in boston. 

Ezra has returned to Rosewood after the peace corp thing ended horribly with his girlfriend being kidnaped and probably murdered. His publisher wants him to write a second book but he is too upset to do anything. He still owns the brew.

Ali is teaching English and has been bonding with ChArlotte and working to get her free. Jason is missing.
